WELCOME TO OPEN STUDIO

Open Studio is an introductory architecture program designed to provide BIPOC high school students the opportunity to identify a career in architecture. Through outreach and education, the goal of the program is to prepare students for a successful architectural education in college.

A Brief History

Since its founding in 1977, The Miller Hull Partnership, LLP has always been an industry leader in providing a workplace environment with an equitable gender mix, but it recognized there are still not enough people of color in architecture, especially women of color. Architecture is now a recognized part of STEM-based fields, so architects are responsible for making the profession more accessible and inclusive. In 2017, this very conversation at Miller Hull led to the development Open Studio in 2018. In 2023, the Open Studio program expanded to Miller Hull's San Diego studio.
